The first branch was opened in 1926 under the name Hollandsche Eenheidsprijzen Maatschappij Amsterdam (Dutch uniform price society Amsterdam). It is now the place to go to buy cheap and cheerful home furnishings, clothes, crockery and smoked sausages. Candles in mad colours. Haberdashery (about the only place left where you can buy needles and thread). Bike tyres. Reading glasses. An eclectic mix. You can find them all over town.
